The Wines:
Sparkling: Wavy “NRG” Pét-Nat (California) 2023
A mineral-driven, naturally sparkling bolt of lightning made from skin-contact Palomino and Chardonnay hand-picked from the Redwood Valley. Biodynamically speaking, it’ll make your atoms move so fast, causing you to scream, “hit me in the proton, baby!”.
Rosé: Frank Cornelissen “Susucaru Rosato" (Sicily, Italy) 2024
Frank Cornelissen is the Dr. Funkenstein of wine. A maverick of the funk who focuses on the movements of Mother Earth “in her various energetic and cosmic passages” and has inspired countless clones. Perched high atop Mount Etna, he makes other-worldly wines from the rich, volcanic soil. I’m thrilled to have the rare opportunity to share the joys of Susucaru with the club!
Chillable Red: Pheasant's Tears “Poliphonia" (Georgia) 2024
“Poliphonia” is the Greek word for “many voices at once”. This co-fermentation of yellow, green, pink, red, purple and blue grape varieties creates a dayglow spectrum of color and texture reminiscient of Parliament-Funkadelic’s merry band of musical misfits all harmonizing in search of the one. Wild, but decadent with deep black cherry flavors and hints of herbs and cola.

Comin’ to you directly from the mothership - this is George Clinton at the awesome height of his artistic and commercial powers. Parliament’s 5th studio album is a perfectly constructed 9-track funk immersion with no skips. An LP that taught me (and millions of other “children”) that it’s ok to be different. Fred Wesley’s triumphant horn arrangements lead a blissful celebration that starts from minute one and will continue to funkatize galaxies ‘til the end of time. Guaranteed to blow the cobwebs out your mind.
